SiSilicon AquaBloc is Pic’s waterproof post-op plaster, designed to protect post-operative or trauma-related wounds (cuts, abrasions, etc.) from water and accidental liquid ingress, while also allowing for simple and painless removal thanks to Indolor™ when changing the dressing.
Its technology combines a waterproof polyurethane backing, which creates an effective barrier, with a silicone adhesive that offers high skin tolerability which helps to reduce the ‘tugging’ sensation during removal.
It helps protect the wound from water: the waterproof polyurethane backing acts as a protective barrier against water and accidental liquid ingress, helping to keep the wound protected in everyday situations where it may be exposed to moisture.
In addition, the full-silicone adhesive backing helps to reduce the sensation of pulling and the risk of micro-trauma to the wound during removal, without leaving any adhesive residue on the skin.
The synergy between waterproof protection and gentle removal. On the one hand, the polyurethane backing helps to provide an effective barrier against water and any accidental ingress of liquids. On the other hand, the silicone adhesive helps reduce the risk of damage to the wound and the surrounding skin during removal of the dressing.
The highly absorbent central pad helps to manage different levels of exudate and keep the wound area protected, while the non-adherent mesh in contact with the wound minimises adhesion to the injured skin, allowing for a gentler dressing change. Additionally, the rounded corners help the plaster remain securely in place, reducing the risk of accidental detachment.
