One of its key features is its high levels of practicality: thanks to the small size of the under-skin sensor, which can be implanted either on the arm or on the abdomen, and the compact, lightweight design of the transmitter, Pic CGM offers discreet, minimally invasive glucose monitoring. No capillary blood sampling is required in order to calibrate the equipment, and frequent replacements are not necessary: the sensor is designed to remain on the skin for 14 days, 24 hours a day.
Predictive alarms alert the user 20 minutes before a hypoglycaemic event occurs and 30 minutes before the hyperglycaemic threshold is reached, thus enabling them to act in time, avoiding any critical situations: the readings are taken every 3 minutes on the app, providing 480 measurements in 24 hours, for a constant and accurate overview.
After positioning the sensor, the initialisation process only takes 1 hour before the first blood glucose value is displayed (a count-down shows how long until the end of the procedure), and recharging takes only 1 hour and 30 minutes. Moreover, a single charge lasts for the entire 14-day cycle. The transmitter simply needs to be recharged every time the sensor is changed, but during the 14 days of use, it never needs to be removed. In addition, the device is waterproof and can withstand depths of up to one metre.
Pic CGM consists of two parts: the sensor - to be positioned on the skin using the practical applicator - and the rechargeable transmitter, which can be reused multiple times, and stored in the charging station.
