A #picstop for World Heart Day

September 29, 2016

It's a chance to reflect, share and find out more about various aspects of the organ that drives our bodies. In this spirit, World Heart Day was inaugurated by the World Heart Foundation on 29 September 2000, and is celebrated by events in public spaces all over the world.
Heart health is an extremely important issue, and one that is constantly evolving. Stress, lack of exercise and a bad diet are becoming increasingly common in today's frenetic lifestyles, and are major causes of the increase in heart problems. Prevention is the most effective way of dealing with these, but as we all know, it's not always easy to stand back from the pressures of a fast-paced life.
For this reason, Pic has launched a campaign targeting people who have difficulty taking even the briefest of pauses: "#picstop, take a break and check your health."

#PICSTOP, TAKE A BREAK AND CHECK YOUR HEALTH.

Cardiac health has always been an issue that's close to our hearts here at Pic, and starting this year we'll be celebrating World Heart Day with a project entitled #picstop: take a break and check your health. From 26 September to 11 October, a truck will tour various locations in and around Milan, offering members of the public a chance to have their blood pressure measured by suitably qualified staff of Pic. A #picstop is a moment of escape from the frenetic pace of everyday life, and a chance to listen to what your heart is telling you. The truck will be parked near the offices of leading companies, and will encourage people to reflect on the importance of prevention. It's easy enough: all it takes is a little regular exercise, a low-salt diet and periodic blood pressure checks to read those signals from your heart and take measures to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Apart from measuring visitors' blood pressure, Pic team will be handing out a simple, fun guide to reducing salt in their diets without changing their eating habits - and another surprise gift.
