The importance of self-testing
Monitoring your blood pressure level will help you to stay healthy.
With Pic Solution blood pressure monitors, measurement is easy and accurate.

High blood pressure affects more than 10 million people in Italy, but because of poor knowledge or awareness, fewer than 25% keep it under control by measuring it daily.

A significant increase in blood pressure can lead to stroke and heart attacks in old age, and contribute at any age to kidney disease due to poor blood circulation. Sufferers should avoid certain risk factors such as smoking, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle. Their clinical condition should also be controlled to prevent an increase in the level of cholesterol: a fat in the blood that is deposited on interior artery walls reducing their diameter, blocking blood flow and contributing to an increase in blood pressure.

Blood pressure self-testing is an essential part of monitoring, recommended to all and indispensable in certain specific cases such as during pregnancy, for diabetes sufferers and the elderly or for those for whom surgery measurement is affected by emotional reactions (hypertension caused by the stress of going to the doctor’s).

Precise and easily used instruments are essential to ensure efficient home measurement. The legally required CE certification is rather inadequate in one fundamental area: it does not guarantee precise validation of the accuracy of certified sphygmomanometers. Voluntary certification is therefore necessary to overcome this legislative vacuum. In June 2007, Pic Solution presented two validation studies on the CS410 and CSI 610 sphygmomanometers to the European Society of Hypertension (ESH). Both sphygmomanometers easily passed the validation tests for the accuracy of measurements in accordance with international EHS protocol.

The Pic Solution blood pressure monitors can therefore be recommended for both professional and domestic use.
