Mercury may be on the way out, but fevers are here to stay
Pic research has created a new range of products that take environmental issues into account
The time to say goodbye to the old mercury thermometer is here.
With those difficult to read lines and its easily broken glass, since 3 April the traditional thermometer with moving mercury has been officially laid to rest.

From this date the ministerial decree of 30 July 2008 comes into effect that implements the European Union directive to prevent thermometers, especially mercury thermometers, from being thrown into the rubbish and harming the environment and, in the long term, human health. Obviously anyone with one at home can continue to use it, but the directive does apply to all thermometers that will be manufactured in the future.

Pic Solution, a leader in the Italian thermometer market, wants to satisfy the demands of all consumers and care for the environment at the same time. It has therefore adopted the philosophy behind the new law not only by totally updating its range, but also by using the safest and most innovative technology to make thermometers tools that are ever safer, more reliable and easier to use.

After undergoing strict quality and reliability tests and after obtaining clinical hospital certification that proves the high standard of precision, a complete range of digital thermometers has been created:VedoDigit II, VedoLente, VedoEasy and VedoPremium.

Clinically tested and with an unlimited warranty, they are available in 4 versions to meet everyone’s needs, including the youngest children. Starting with the simplest and most immediate (VedoDigit II), we then find a thermometer with magnifying lens (VedoLente), and one with an extra-large display, fever alarm and innovative design (VedoEasy) and finally the top of the range (VedoPremium), the most accessorised, that features an extra-large display, check light technology with visual fever alarm that shows whether or not the person has a fever, and a flexible probe that makes it suitable for children.

This season’s flu will be remembered by many families not for the “usual high temperature”, but most of all because they had something new to measure it with…even if it was something they would have preferred to have left in the drawer!
